HF & P provided full structural engineering services for the New Vergelegen Winery. The client’s main requirements were ensuring an even low temperature as well as the minimisation of mechanical handling of the product. Sunk into a large excavation stabilised with gunite and soil nails, the 1100 ton capacity winery is made largely from on-site precast concrete elements. (completed 1992)
